Greater Cincinnati Cover the Uninsured Week 2008 Events

Enrollment Blitz

Volunteers will be stationed at the Kroger stores below to help you qualify for medical coverage. Come on Saturday April 26 or May 3 between 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Bring the following:

Proof of income (last three months paystubs)
Proof of pregnancy (if relevant)
Proof of other insurance (if any)
Outstanding medical bills
Proof of Citizenship
- Passport, or
- Proof of birth (birth certificate) and Proof of identity (driver's license)

Applicants will receive a Kroger gift card (while supplies last)

Climb for Crossroad

Saturday April 26, 2008, 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
The Climb for Crossroad is an hour long walk up the restored tree-sheltered steps of Liberty Hill, the scenic hillside of historic homes that rises above Over-the-Rhine and Crossroad’s neighborhood. After the Climb there will be refreshments, food and family fun. The event is a fund-raiser for Crossroad Health Center, Corner of Liberty and Vine.

“Congress Debates” National Health Policy Discussion

Monday April 28, 2008, 2:00pm – 3:30 pm

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center – Sabin Auditorium

The Democratic Leadership Council and Congressional Institute sponsor this debate which will be moderated by NPR reporter Julie Rovner and include Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-CA) Rep. Charles Boustany (R-LA). Rep. Shelly Moore Capito (R-WV) Rep. Kathy Castor (D-FL), Rep. Rep. Nathan Deal (R-GA), Rep. Adam Putnam (R-FL), Allyson Schwartz (D-PA), Rep. John Shadegg (AZ). The event is free but seating is extremely limited. Please call the reservation line at (513) 803-6245 and follow the instructions to reserve a seat. Those without formal reservations will not be admitted on April 28.
